The First Great Book for Girls Giveaway

Yup, you read it right. I've been meaning to start earlier this summer, but got distracted. And now that school starts in three weeks, I decided I'd better get the ball rolling. I'll be hosting book giveaways periodically throughout the year for books I've really enjoyed. And boys, fear not, I'll have books for you too.

For the first Great Books for Girls Giveaway, I debated which book to choose. I wanted something really good, that was all about summer, and already highlighted in my book list. And here it is. This book is a perfect beach read, all around great book to send a loved one at summer camp next year, and a book I wished I had when I was a teen. Any ideas?

Okay, if you haven't figured it out by the picture of the lovely cover, I'm gonna give away a paperback copy of Nothing but the Truth (and a few white lies) by Justina Chen Headley.

Write in your comments down below on the Truth of why you deserve the book by next Monday, August 20th by 11pm EST, and I'll announce the winner on Tuesday.

Ready. Set. Go!

Hmm - the truth of why I deserve the book ??? Because I am dying to read it - and I am a librarian - I don't make enough money to buy my own copy!!! Is that a good reason?!?! AND because we don't have it in our library so I will DONATE it after I read it!!! :)

The truth of why I deserve the book is because I'm a broke college student who loves to read and share good books with others. I want to read it and then give it to my younger sister. She's not like I am and needs a good book and lot of encouragement to read.

We'd love to have a copy of this so we can share it with our local reading group (as well as those that visit us online.) We'll add a 'pretty please' for good measure. This looks like a wonderful book!

I deserve this book b/c it sounds GREAT, and b/c I won't be starting my job (which is only part time) until Monday, and it only runs through Sept! So, I need great freebies b/c I can't afford to buy books. :-) Also, it would be a great back to school present for myself b/c classes don't start until the 22nd for me!

I think I deserve this book because it has been waiting for me on my Amazon wishlist for too long! Unfortunately I keep having to spend my money on pesky things like food, gas and tuition :( I am an English major who wants to teach so I always love reading new books I can potentially recommend to students/friends. :)

I need a beach book because then maybe I would go to the beach which I haven't done once this summer even though I live in the Ocean State (although who wants sand in a nice new book anyway, and I would have to go without the children because it wouldn't be fair to the book to try to read it and keep an eye on them as well so I wouldn't actually take it to the beach). I also do not have money to buy books for myself because I spend my money buying books for Others. Also, I have books (mostly for Others)delivered to my work address, so getting a book for Me at work would make my work experience more fulfilling and I would work harder which would help grow the economy or something. And finally, even though I would read this book first and presumably with great enjoyment, I would end up donating it to the public library and all the Plain People of my mill village area would have even more reason to come to the library and check out books, increasing our stats. and keeping the town from cutting library funding.
